Severe Thunderstorms Prompts warnings throughout Disrict

Some severe storms took place across the coverage area tonight. A Severe Thunderstorm Warning was issued for Northern Fayette County and SE Westmoreland County. Storms were spotted around 9:00 PM in NE Greene County and NW Fayette County where a Severe Thunderstorm Warning was issued by PBZ as well.

The warning in the Connellsville Area prompted a firework display to take place an hour early than scheduled. Following the fireworks display, around 9:15 PM, the storms began with lightining, high wind gusts and severe downpours. No hail or tornado activity was spotted. The duration of the storm was 40 minutes in duration, with thunder continuing till after 10:00 PM in my area.
